Driver Service Agreement
Last updated: May 2026
This agreement sets out the terms for drivers who deliver parcels and run multi-leg service trips through Me2You. Driving is an applied capability you add to your existing Me2You account through /driver/register.php; you keep your buyer and seller profile. By accepting any delivery request or service run on the platform, you agree to these terms. They apply in addition to the general Terms of Service.
1. Independent contractor status
- You are an independent contractor, not an employee of Me2You.
- Me2You does not provide UIF, medical aid, pension, or leave benefits.
- You are responsible for your own tax obligations, including SARS registration, income tax, and provisional tax.
- You set your own working hours and are free to accept or decline any delivery request.
2. Vehicle requirements
- You must have a valid South African driver's licence (Code B minimum).
- Your vehicle must be roadworthy and have a current licence disc.
- Your vehicle must be clean and presentable.
- Motorcycles and scooters are permitted for small parcel deliveries.
3. Insurance
- You must maintain valid vehicle insurance that covers third-party liability at minimum.
- Goods-in-transit insurance is recommended but not required at this stage.
- Me2You does not insure drivers or their vehicles.
- You are liable for damage to parcels caused by negligence on your part.
4. Delivery standards
- You may accept or decline any delivery request or multi-leg service run. There is no penalty for declining.
- Once you accept a job, you must complete every leg in the agreed order and within the agreed timeframe. Service runs can include several pickup and drop-off legs; you must check in at each leg through the driver app so the buyer and seller see live progress.
- Handle all parcels with care. Do not tamper with, open, or mishandle items.
- Obtain proof of delivery through the app (recipient signature or photo confirmation) for each leg of a service run.
- If there are delays at any leg, notify the buyer, the seller, and Me2You support promptly.
5. Earnings
| Component | Detail |
|---|---|
| Base delivery fee | Per-delivery rate based on distance (ZAR) |
| Multi-leg service run | Each leg is priced separately and added together; the full fee is shown before you accept the job |
| Surge pricing | Higher rates during peak demand periods |
| Tips | 100% retained by you |
| Payment cycle | Weekly payouts to your registered bank account |
| Payment method | EFT via PayFast or direct bank transfer |
- Delivery rates are set by Me2You. If we adjust rates, we will give you at least 14 days' notice.
- You can view the estimated earnings for a delivery, or the full multi-leg total for a service run, before you accept it.
6. Driver capability deactivation
Your driver capability may be deactivated (without affecting your buyer or seller profile, since accounts on Me2You are unified) for any of the following reasons:
- Consistent poor ratings from buyers or sellers (below 3.5 out of 5 over 20 deliveries or service-run legs)
- Failure to deliver accepted orders or complete every leg of an accepted service run
- Tampering with or stealing parcels
- Rude or threatening behaviour toward buyers or sellers
- Operating without a valid licence or insurance
- Violating any Me2You terms or South African law
You may appeal a deactivation within 14 days through the dispute resolution process.
